Licensed Professional Counselor
I believe that the best part about counseling is that it’s not one size fits all; it can be molded to fit your unique needs.
Something isn’t feeling right? We can adjust how the session is being navigated until we find the best fit for you. I like to look at counseling as a team effort. You and I can collaborate on what you would like to achieve and how you would like to achieve it.
I strive to create an environment of comfort, safety, and respect so that we may foster this relationship naturally and authentically. I’m no stranger to counseling myself and I understand that it can be a difficult process to begin. Human beings have complex experiences and complex emotions. Oftentimes, that can be a difficult thing to explain and explore with a totally new person. With that in mind, I like to fill my sessions with kindness, compassion, and a lot of humor to make the process a little easier for you to navigate. You will find that I can be direct at times, but I also come alongside you so we can celebrate the everyday victories you achieve throughout our time together.
My greatest hope is that together we can discover the different facets of who you are and how that translates into why you are coming to counseling today. It would be a privilege to walk beside you throughout your healing journey. Above all, “Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you are going.” (quote from Dr. Noam Schpancer)
ABOUT ME
In my free time you can find me reading one of the many (many) books on my “to be read” list. I geek out on all things fantasy and enjoy a wide variety of music, but indie and alternative rock will always have my heart. I like to spend quality time with my loved ones, including my dog Rosie. As an introvert I tend to appreciate quality time with just myself, too (:
I think it is important as a counselor to not only talk the talk but walk the walk; I make sure to prioritize my own counseling outside of the office, so I have an opportunity to check in on myself and my own healing journey. I try to have the same compassion for myself as I do for clients.
